Go get the demos.

Demo the other vendors too. Score each one the same way and decide on what you saw. We would rather win that comparison than skip it.

What to check in every demo.

Score each one. Print it, take it in, decide on what you saw.

  1. 1

    Your workflow

Does it fit the way your shop already works, or do you have to work the way it does?

  2. 2

    Too rigid?

Can your office change statuses, fields, forms and reports itself, without a ticket?

  3. 3

    Time to live

How long until your team is working in it, and what setup and training that takes.

  4. 4

    The full cost

Software, users, modules, setup, training and support over three years, not the first invoice.

  5. 5

    Support

Who answers when something breaks, and how fast?

  6. 6

    The shop floor

Can a worker without an office login see the work, finish a step and log hours on a tablet?

  7. 7

    The field

Can an installer open the work order, mark up a photo and log hours from a phone?

  8. 8

    The money

Does an accepted estimate become deposits, invoices, payments and a margin figure without double entry?

  9. 9

    Still being built?

    Ask what shipped last month.

Before the feature list

The questions every shop asks in the first call, answered here so the demo can be about your job.

How does setup work?

It starts with a walkthrough of how your shop sells, builds, installs and bills. We configure statuses, phases, fields, templates and roles to match, bring your customers and open work across, and put one live job through the system before switching on more.

How a setup is scoped
Can we bring our existing data across?

QuickBooks Online data comes across automatically: customers, estimates, invoices and payments are imported in one step. From any other system, our team will do everything we can to bring your data over.

Does it work with QuickBooks?

Yes. QuickBooks Online syncs customers, estimates, invoices, payments and tax codes both ways, and tracked hours can be pushed for payroll. QuickBooks Desktop is supported through IIF export.

The QuickBooks integration
Who gets to see the money?

Owner, admin, manager, office and production roles decide that. Production users work from the calendar and never see estimates, invoices, payments, products, reports or company settings. Project managers and job members add a second layer per job.

Roles and permissions, in full
Does everyone in the shop need a login?

No. The shop floor uses a shared tablet with a PIN or a badge. Workers see the released work for their department, finish steps and log hours without an office account or a price in sight.

The shop-floor kiosk
What about installers and people out of the office?

The native iPhone and Android app opens jobs, work orders, tasks, files and email, captures and marks up photos, and logs hours. Owners and managers see the same dashboards and reports from anywhere.

The mobile app
Does Woodsystems replace our design or CNC software?

No. It runs the business and production workflow around the job. Keep the CAD, CAM and design tools you use; drawings and cut lists attach to the job and the work order.

What does it cost?

Every shop starts with the same connected core: jobs, customers, estimates, invoices, payments, files, work orders and time tracking. Capabilities such as capacity planning, the kiosk, reports, manufacturing and inventory are added when your setup includes them. We quote it for your shop rather than publish a bundle you would pay for and never open.

What is included and what is added
Who owns our data, and how do we leave?

You do. Your records and files stay yours while you are a customer, and when you ask us to close the account we delete it. The account deletion page on this site explains the steps.

Account deletion
How is our data protected?

Two-step sign-in for every user who turns it on, sign-out everywhere on a password change, throttled sign-in attempts, one storage bucket per company, encrypted connections to your mailbox and accounting, and an append-only log of any support sign-in.
